Sustainability Reporting Analyst - UK and Ireland

Job Description

Role responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Reporting:

  • Prepare reports to comply with environmental legislation across UK&I (e.g., Packaging & Waste Reporting (2007, 2024), Plastic Packaging Tax, reporting for Repak in Ireland).
  • Validate sustainability data, reconciling multiple data sources.
  • Monitor sustainability-related legislation. Redefine sustainability reporting requirements based on the changes on legislation / guidance provided by external agencies.
  • Continuously improve the processes associated with environmental reporting.
  • Manage the purchasing process for Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs), ensuring compliance with recycling obligations.

Customer-Focused Sustainability Reporting:

  • Coordinate preparation of sustainability reports as requested by customers (e.g., packaging data, carbon footprint analysis).

External Agency and Scheme Management:

  • Liaise with and manage relationships with external agencies, including scheme operators like Clarity Environmental.

Internal Communication and Compliance Updates:

  • Report on compliance status and share internal results with the compliance steering committee.

Qualifications

  • Have strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection, manipulation and visualization tools (Excel, PowerBI);
  • Ability to interpret sustainability-related legislation;
  • Previous experience in sustainability and/or data analysis and reporting;
  • Good communication skills, good at establishing and maintaining relationships and promoting collaboration;
  • Presentation skills;
  • System savvy; experience with SAP R3P/BW is beneficial.
