Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Execute sourcing and procurement activities for the MBS portfolio in Malaysia, ensuring alignment with regional and global strategies.

Support local stakeholders in meeting business requirements for MBS categories, including Creative, Production, Design, Ad Tech, Market Research, POSM, Premiums & Print, Artwork, BTL, Fleet, HR Services, Consultancy, Professional Services, Facility Management, Travel, and IT.

Maintain supplier relationships, contracts, and compliance with procurement policies.

Contribute to cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation at the country level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Buying (Core Focus)

  • Execute day-to-day procurement activities for MBS categories in Malaysia.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure timely supply of goods and services.
  • Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Resolve supply issues and escalate complex cases to the regional team.
  • Drive local productivity and cost-saving initiatives.

Strategic Support

  • Implement regional and global category strategies at the local level.
  • Provide market insights and supplier performance feedback to the regional procurement team.
  • Participate in local negotiations under the guidance of the Regional Procurement Manager.

Transactional Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, processes, and systems.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation.
  • Support reporting, governance, and audit activities as required.

Sustainability

  • Actively engage with suppliers to ensure compliance with the company's ESG policies, including tracking audit statuses and verifying the validity of required certifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and advancing sustainability goals.
  • Proactively build and manage contingency plans to address potential gaps in meeting compliance requirements related to responsible sourcing, human rights, and carbon emissions reduction.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) & SUCCESS MEASURES

Cost Savings Delivered: Achieve annual cost savings targets for assigned MBS categories.

Contract Compliance: 100% of spend under contract and adherence to procurement policies.

Supplier Performance: ≥90% of suppliers meeting agreed service levels (quality, delivery, responsiveness).

Cycle Time: Average sourcing and purchase order cycle times within defined benchmarks.

Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from internal stakeholders (measured via surveys or feedback sessions).

Data Accuracy: 100% accuracy in procurement system data entry and documentation.

Issue Resolution: Timely resolution of supply or quality issues (measured by average days to resolve).

Qualifications

  • Academic Program: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Experienced: 2–4 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in Marketing & Business Services or related categories.
  • Skillset
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good negotiation and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and MS Office.
  • Attention to detail and a compliance mindset.
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
